Prepare a tablet for kiosk signing
Launch the correct signing station and rehearse the handoff between guests.
A kiosk helps a guest who does not have a usable phone or prefers to sign on a venue device. Set it up as part of the counter workflow: staff should know which form appears, how to help with an exception and how to prepare the device for the next person.
Use the actual tablet and network for the rehearsal. A form that looks comfortable on a laptop can feel different when someone is standing at a counter, holding a bag or completing information for several children.
Choose the location and start the kiosk.
Open Share on the device. In Start kiosk on this device, choose the appropriate location and select Start kiosk. Review the available template choices and open the intended form. Keep the tablet in a position where the person signing can read it without exposing answers to the queue.
Complete a clearly identified test visit.
Work through the form with test information and check the final result in the workspace. Rehearse a family where relevant. Confirm the steps needed to return to a fresh signing screen, and make sure the next guest cannot see the previous guest’s entered answers.
Write a short counter instruction.
Give staff a simple process for a missing form, interrupted connection or guest who needs more time. Include how to switch to a public link on the guest’s phone when appropriate. Review the location setting whenever the tablet moves to another branch or a temporary event.
Try it with a realistic visit.
Have two colleagues act as consecutive guests. The first completes a test form, then follows the normal handoff back to the desk. The second should start from a clean signing state with the intended form and location. Include an interruption, such as a question from reception, because staff will not always be able to watch the tablet continuously.
The setup is ready when the next person can start without seeing the previous person’s answers and staff can explain the fallback if the tablet stops working. Check power, charging access and screen readability at the actual counter before the first busy shift.
The connection drops during signing.
Keep the current page open while checking connectivity. Do not assume a draft is a completed signed record. Confirm the final success state and find the record before asking the guest to repeat the whole form or allowing a duplicate signing attempt.
Does moving a tablet change its location automatically?
No. Review the location in the kiosk setup when a device changes sites. Use a short setup checklist so physical placement and signing context stay aligned.
A quick check before you go.
