Estimate your monthly SMS cost
Separate included messages from extra texts when planning invitations and reminders.
Estimate messages, not just guests. One guest may receive an invitation and a reminder, while another signs from a website link without a text. Start with a realistic invitation plan and account for the follow-up your team actually expects to use.
Starter includes 200 SMS each month and Growth includes 500. Additional SMS is $0.02 each. The allowance remains monthly on an annual subscription, so a busy month should be estimated on its own.
Count the planned sends.
List the events and other signing invitations you expect to send by text. Include intended reminders and likely late additions. Keep email invitations separate from the SMS estimate. Review the roster before sending so a malformed or duplicated contact does not lead to unnecessary retries.
Subtract the included allowance.
On Starter, an example month with 350 SMS has 150 above the 200 allowance. At $0.02 each, that is $3 in additional SMS and a $12 total with the monthly subscription. The same 350 messages fit within Growth’s 500 allowance, for a $14 monthly subscription total.
Review a busier month as well.
At 700 SMS, Starter has 500 extra messages, adding $10 to its $9 monthly subscription. Growth has 200 extra, adding $4 to its $14 monthly subscription. These examples compare $19 and $18 respectively before taxes or other services. The right plan must still match your locations and broader requirements.
Try it with a realistic visit.
For an event with 100 intended text recipients, begin with 100 invitations. If you expect to remind 30 people once, include those 30 planned messages rather than automatically doubling the whole roster. Add the other events in the same month, then compare the total with the plan allowance. Keep the estimate separate from the actual billed usage until the account reports it.
The calculation should show its assumptions: expected sends, included messages, extra messages and the $0.02 rate. Review those assumptions after a real event so the next estimate reflects your follow-up pattern. A guest count by itself is not a complete text-message forecast.
You cannot reconcile an SMS amount.
Collect the billing period, plan allowance and relevant send information for the account owner. Ask support to clarify which messages were counted. Avoid guessing at delivery, retry or message-segment billing rules that are not shown in the account’s terms.
Does annual billing provide 2,400 or 6,000 texts at once?
No. The allowance is 200 or 500 each month, including on annual subscriptions. Annual billing changes the subscription payment schedule, not the allowance period.
